The three most dangerous wildifires in history.

  • 1. The 2003 Siberian Taiga Fires.
  • In 2003 – during one of the hottest summers a series of fires destroyed over 55 million acres of forests, making it one of the most destructive fires ever. with smokes crossing all the way to Mongolia.

  • 2. 2019-2020 Australian bushfires
  • This extreme bushfire tore through new South Wales and Queensland. it burned through 42 million acres of forests, destroying thousands of building, killing many animals, and causing several casualties during it's wrath.

  • 3. 2014 Canadian Territories Fires
  • In the summer of 2014, over 150 fires broke out in the Northwest Territories. 13 of them are thought to have been caused by humans. The smoke they made caused air quality warnings across the whole country and in the US. Smoke was visible as far away as Portugal in western Europe. A total of 8.5 million acres of forest were destroyed and firefighters operations cost the government US$44.4 million. These devastating effects made the Northwest Territories Fires one of the worst recorded in nearly three decades.

  • How do Wildfires effect tropical forests?

  • Wildfires are a forest's worst nightmare. when one is set, they can destroy most of if not all of the forest, pollute the water, suffocate the air, and are obviously lethal. however, after every storm their is a rainbow. as once so much is destroyed, it also destroyes other ad things such as pests, invasive species, and vermin insects. while also resetting the forest cycle.

    How do fires affect fireflies?

The forest destroys a lot of what the fireflies live in. it also disrupts breeding, as its fireflies require near complete darkness to breed. One of the few positives I could find is that after the fire stops, there is a lot o open space, and the charred environment mimics darkness better.
